448. The future in protasis is also appropriately used when a future apodosis is implied in a past tense; as in SOPH. OT 843 , εἰ λέξει τὸν αὐτὸν ἀριθμὸν, οὐκ ἐγὼ κ̓τάνον, if he shall tell the same number (it will follow that) I did not kill him. So EUR. Med. 1249.
