καί: also, belongs to οἶσθά τινας. περὶ οὗ διαλεγόμεθα: which is the point under discussion. “Poor speakers and good ones may indeed find friends etc.; it does not therefore follow that men who are wholly worthless can win friends: and that is the point at issue.” φίλους (after ἀγαθούς): pred. acc., for friends. ἐκεῖνο: that point, like Lat. illud, refers with emphasis to what follows. εἰ ἔστιν: whether it is possible. ἐξ ἑτοίμου: readily. Cf. ex facili Tacitus Agric. 15.
