[56] Note the variant “ὁρῆτο” (“ὅρητο”) ascribed to Zen., and compare “ὅρηαιOd. 14.343. The form in “-η-” agrees with the Ionic colouring of our present text; “ὅρατο” would be the old non-thematic form, but “ὁρᾶτο” is more probably due to Attic influence than to a survival from a prae-Ionic text.
