[418] The return of Athene from the battle-field to Olympos has not been mentioned; see 510. The ‘taunt’ — which almost descends, it must be admitted, to the level of ‘chaff’ — looks like a conscious allusion to 4.7-12. For 421 cf. 5.762, Od. 1.158.
