[529] ἄλκιμον ἦτορ ἕλεσθε only here; but cf. “ἄλκιμον ἦτορ ἔχων” 16.209, 264. The phrase has a superficial resemblance to our ‘take heart.’ In the repetition of these lines 15.561-4 we have “αἰδῶ θέσθ᾽ ἐνὶ θυμῶι”. For the contracted αιδεῖσθε we should read “αἴδεσθε”, as “αἰδομένων” shews.
