[868] The aor. Παρείθη occurs only rarely (Eur. Phoen. 1377ἀφείθη”, Herod.vi. 112Herod., vii. 122ἀπείθη”; subj. “ἀνεθῆι” Plato Plat. Pol. 270A, etc.). The Epic form should be “παρεήθη” (for “ἐ-σή-θη” cf. “ἕηκα”) or “παρήθη” (with the augment dropped); “εἴθη” is for “ἐ-σέ-θη” with the weak root, whence “ἀφέθην”, Batr. 87.But here of course the late form is in place.
