[855] The lines added by Kallisthenes (vide supra) are of course intended to remedy the omission of the Kaukones, who appear among the Trojan allies in 10.429, 20.329. Other Kaukones in Elis are mentioned in Od. 3.366 (cf. Herod.i. 147).
