” is commonly prefixed to the vocative.

DEM. 1.1: ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι” , and so hundreds of times in the same author. 19.4: ἄνδρες δικασταί” , and the same phrase hundreds of times in the same author.

In the Conv.there are about 70 examples of the use of “” with the vocative of proper names, and only 8 instances of the vocative of proper names without “.” (See Hug on Plat. Conv.init.). Protag.: All of about a hundred vocatives of proper names seem to have the “.” (See Hug l.c.).
