Noteworthy is the occasional use, in familiar language, of the article with the personal and the reflexive pronoun. “γέλωτα . . . τὸν ἐμὲ ἐν τοῖς λόγοις ἀπέδειξε”, PLATO, Theaet. 166A; He made a laughingstock of poor me in the debate. PLATO, Lys. 203B: “δεῦρο δή, ἦ δ᾽ ὅς, εὐθὺ ἡμῶν . . . ποῖ, ἔφην ἐγώ, λέγεις, καὶ παρὰ τίνας τοὺς ὑμᾶς” (the you mentioned); Phaedr. 258 A: “ἔδοξέ πού φησι τῇ βουλῇ . . ., καὶ ὃς εἶπε, τὸν αὑτὸν δὴ λέγων μάλα σεμνῶς . . . ὁ συγγραφεύς”. Phileb. 14 D: “τοὺς ἐμέ”. 20 B: “τὸν ἐμέ”. 59 B-C: “τὸν μὲν δὴ σὲ καὶ ἐμὲ καὶ Γοργίαν καὶ Φίληβον χρὴ συχνὰ χαίρειν ἐᾶν”. PLAT. Soph. 239B: “τὸν μὲν τοίνυν ἐμέ γ᾽ ἔτι τίς ἂν λέγοι”; Theaet. 166 A (see above). COM. Men. 4.210: “νῦν δὲ κατὰ πόλιν” | “εὕρηκε τὸν ἕτερον, τὸν σέ, τὸν ἐμὲ τουτονί”.
