αὐτὸν, illum, not ipsum: the latter would be fitting only if Odysseus had been responsible for the deaths of the others. αὐδᾶσθαι: cp. El. 1478ζῶντας θανοῦσιν οὕνεκ᾽ ἀνταυδᾷς ἴσα”, speakest of the living as if they were dead.
