νῦν μὲνὅταν δὲ: i.e., ‘beware lest, though now thou art facile, yet,’ etc.: cp. n. on 503.

εὐχερὴς, easy-going (cp. 875): τις gives a slightly contemptuous tone; cp. Aesch. P. V. 696πρῴ γε στενάζεις καὶ φόβου πλέα τις εἶς”. For its position, cp. Soph. Ai. 29καί μοί τις ὀπτήρ”.— παρῇς, as a spectator who is not yet required to make any personal sacrifice. Not from “παρίημι”, as = ‘comply.’
