θεῶν, a monosyll.: O. C. 964 n. ποῦ γὰρ: for “γάρ”, cp. 249 f. σοι, ethic dat., implying, ‘how was it that you did not find him ready to help you at that crisis?’ Cp. O. C. 81“ἦ βέβηκεν ἡμὶν ὁ ξένος;” τὰ φίλτατα, of one person, as Eur. Ion 521“τὰ φίλταθ᾽ εὑρών” (i.e. “τὸν υιόν”): but of several persons, Soph. O. C. 1110 etc.
