τοῖα: 164 n. πάννυχα καὶ φαέθοντ̓: schol. “κατὰ νύκτα καὶ ἡμέραν”. Cp. 217 “νύκτερος” (n.). The bold use of “φαέθοντα” for “ἡμερινά” or “πανημέρια” is interpreted and softened by the preceding “πάννυχα”. Doubt would be warrantable if “φαέθοντ᾽ ἀνεστέναζες” stood alone.
