σῴζου τόδε, i.e. the “ἐλεύθερον στόμα”. If she is overheard in the house, she may yet lose the newly-gained free dom. Except in the sense of ‘remembering’ (993 n.), the midd. of the simple “σῴζω” is somewhat rare; but cp. Ar. Eq. 1017“σῴζε<*>θαί ς̀̓ ἐκέλευς᾿ ἱερὸν κύνα”.
