τῷ παλαμναίῳ, more forcible than “φονεῖ”: cp. Tr. 1207φονέα γενέσθαι καὶ παλαμναῖον σέθεν” (n.).

πρόσθεν ἐξαπώλεσας. The point of “πρόσθεν” is that, having first used his aid to slay her husband, she has put him in that husband's place.
