τί φής; Her words, “ἵν᾽ οὐ”, already indicate her thought; ‘where there is no — hope’: and the Chorus interrupt her with a remonstrance. She rejoins by repeating that her brother is no more. While they are vaguely consolatory, she dwells on the loss of the only avenger to whom she could look.
