μάτηρ ὡσεί τις: these words have been taken as indicating that the Chorus was composed (in part, at least) of women older than Electra. Her own tone to them rather suggests “ὁμήλικες” (134). (In Tr. 526 the words “ἐγὼ δὲ μάτηρ μὲν οἷα φράζω” are corrupt.)
