ἀπολεῖς, enecabis. She takes their remonstrance as implying a doubt whether Orestes is dead. For this verb in ref. to mental pain, cp. Ph. 1172“τί μ᾽ ὤλεσας”; (‘afflicted me’—by reviving a painful memory).
