τοιαῦτα δ᾽ ἄλλα. She wishes Electra's behaviour to be a faithful copy of her own. Cp. Her. 1. 191τά περ τῶν Βαβυλωνίων βασίλεια ἐποίησε..., ἐποίεε καὶ Κῦρος ἕτερα τοιαῦτα”. Plat. Rep. 372Dγηραιοὶ τελευτῶντες ἄλλον τοιοῦτον βίον τοῖς ἐκγόνοις παραδώσουσιν”.—The MS. ἀλλὰ is impossible. Thus placed, it could not have the ‘appealing’ force claimed for it by Schneidewin (‘Come, thus do thou also’): cp. 411 n. It is strange that any doubts should be felt as to ἄλλα (cr. n.).
