ἄναρθρος, like “ἐκνενε<*> μένος”, since his whole frame has been unhinged and unnerved; so Eur. Or.227“ὅταν” “μ᾽ ἀνῇ νό<*>ος” | “μανίας, ἄναρθρός εἰμι κἀσθενῶ μέλη.—κατερρακωμένος”: cp. Aesch. P. V.1023(the eagle rending the flesh of Prometheus) “διαρταμήσει σώματος μέγα ῥάκος”: Lycophron 1113 “καὶ πᾶν λακίζουσ᾽ ἐν φοναῖς ψυχρὸν δέμας.—τυφλῆς”, caeca, unseen: fr. 533 “τὸ δ᾽ ἐς αὔριον ἀεὶ” | “τυφλὸν ἕρπει”. Cp. Eur. Med.1200(the fatal robe consuming Glaucè's flesh) “σάρκες δ᾽ ἀπ᾽ ὀστέων ὥστε πεύκινον δάκρυ” | “γναθμοῖς ἀδήλοις φαρμάκων ἀπέρρεον”.
