ὀπαδὸν … ἐλάφων, as follow ing them in the chase. Artemis “Ἀγροτέρα” had a temple at Athens in the suburb “Ἄγραι”, on an eminence by the Ilissus; and to her, as “"smiter of deer,"” the festival of the “Ἐλαφηβόλια” was held in the month thence named (Mar.—Apr.).
