μανθάνειν … ἥκομεν, we have come to learning, = are in such plight that we must learn: the infin. as after verbs of duty or fitness (ὀφείλω, προσήκει, etc.). Cp. O. T. 1158 “εἰς τόδ᾽ ἥξεις” (sc. εἰς τὸ ὀλέσθαι).
