ἀνθ᾽ ὧν, “"wherefore"”: cp. O. T. 264 n.—In Ἐτεοκλῆς the ο might be either long or short (cp. on 1): elsewhere Soph. has the name only in Ant. 23, 194 (“Ἐτεοκλέα” beginning both verses).
