ὀμφήν, his message. Usu. of a divine or oracular voice (102), but see 1351: Pind. fr. 53 “ὀμφαὶ μελέων σὺν αὐλοῖς”: Eur. Med. 174μύθων τ᾽ αὐδαθέντων ὀμφάν” (the words of the Chorus).

ἐφ᾽ ἁστάλη=“ἐπὶ” (“ταῦτα”) “ἐφ᾽ ἐστάλη” (cp. 274); “"that by a small service he might win a great gain"” (72).
