δημούχοις, holding, reigning among, your people: cp. O. T. 160 “γαιάοχον … ι Ἄρτεμιν”: Aristoph. Eq. 581 “Παλλὰς πολιοῦχος”: Aesch. Th. 69 “πολισσοῦχοι θεοί”. But below, 1087 “γᾶς...δαμούχοις” = the Athenians, 1348 “δημοῦχος χθονός” = the king. The word is tinged here with the notion of "deme": cp. 78.
