τύραννος, one of the royal house: cp. Tr. 316μὴ τῶν τυράννων”; “"is she of the royal stock?"” The Creon of O. T. 588 does not wish “τύραννος εἶναι” (to be king) “μᾶλλον τύραννα δρᾶν”: but the captor of the blind man's daughters must seek a touch of dignity from any source.
