ἀφήσεις: 838 “μέθες”. The former is properly, “"allow to depart,"”—the latter, “"release from one's grasp"”; but they differ here only as “"let her alone"” from the more specific “"unhand her."” Cp. 857 “οὔτοι σ᾽ ἀφήσω”, I will not allow thee to leave Colonus.
