[349] φωνήσαντε is curious, as Odysseus only has spoken. Didymos compares the similar instance 21.298ὧς εἰπόντε” after a speech from one only. There seems to be a sort of attraction to the number of the principal verb. The variant of Aph.was apparently meant to evade this difficulty.
