[25] 25-6 were athetized by Zen. on the obvious ground that the earth could not be suspended to a peak of Olympos, which is a part of itself. It is clear that the poet of these lines has entirely lost the real Epic conception of Olympos as a mountain in Thessaly, and follows the later mythology which removed it from earth to heaven.
