[218] This appeal to the Muses (cf. 2.484) fitly introduces what is really the turning-point of the poem. For now begins, with the wounding of Agamemnon, the disastrous rout of the Greeks which prevails upon Achilles to relax his anger and send Patroklos to the rescue.
