[587] τένοντας, perhaps rather “τένοντε”. The dual occurs in 4.521, 5.307, 10.456, 14.466, 17.290, 22.396, and as a variant in 20.478. The only passage where the tradition is unanimous for the plural is Od. 3.449. See note on 4.521, and for the tendons of the neck, 10.456. 588 = 4.505.
