[226] Πιερίην, see 2.766. Ἠμαθίην (evidently from “ἄμαθος”) the coast-land of Macedonia (so Strabo). But in Hymn. Ap. 216 it is in Thessaly, as the god takes it (and Pieria) on his way from Olympos to Iolkos. Compare Od. 5.50Πιερίην δ᾽ ἐπιβὰς” (“Ἑρμῆς”) “ἐξ αἰθέρος ἔμπεσε πόντωι: σεύατ᾽ ἔπειτα κ.τ.λ.
