[180] ἐπιδευές, the neuter used as a sort of abstract subst. = “ἔνδειαν”, ‘that thou mayst have no lack of justice’ (cf. note on 9.225). In Attic it would of course be regarded as an adverb and taken with “ἔχηισθα” = “ἐπιδευὴς ἦις”, but that construction is practically unknown to H. The very late Od. 24.245, “ἐύ τοι κομιδὴ ἔχει”, is the only instance of it.
