[492] βεβλήκει: the plpf. is an intensive imperf., made his hit (H. G. § 28). But, as Delbrück remarks (Grundr. iv. 227), in use the word gives the impression rather of an aor., while “ἐπέπληγον” is used as imperf. It has been in fact suggested by Brugmann that the plpf. forms in “-εα” were originally aorists (ibid.). ἑτέρωσε, to the other side, from Antiphos' point of view.
