[254] ἀοσσητ̂ηρα, a word which recurs in 735, 22.333, Od. 4.165. The most probable explanation is that of Curtius, who derives it from “ἀ”=sa, ‘together,’ and root seq of “ἕπ-ομαι”, sequor, as if “ἀ-σοκ-jη-τηρ”, con-soc-ia-tus.
