[312] Φόρκυνα is the natural form of the acc., though we have “Φόρκυν” in 218, 318. In both places it has been proposed to read “Φόρκυνα” for “Φόρκύν τε” (“θ᾽”), but the analogy of “ἔρινἔριδα, κόρυνκόρυθα” and a good many others (H. G. § 97) shews that this is needless. Phorkys is leader of the Phrygians, 2.862.
