[40] διά, either through the whole course of battles, as we find “διὰ νύκτα” in a temporal sense; or better by means of, like “ἣν διὰ μαντοσύνην” 1.72, “διὰ μῆτιν Ἀθήνης” 10.497, battles being Zeus' instrument for working his will.
