[253] Odysseus went with Nestor to beg the assistance of Achilles; see 11.765 sqq., where Nestor quotes a different charge of Peleus to his son, “αἰὲν ἀριστεύειν καὶ ὑπείροχον ἔμμεναι ἄλλων”. The legend of the sojourn in Skyros is evidently not Homeric.
