[117] The first οὐδέ belongs as usual to the whole sentence, which is thus brought into connexion with what precedes, while the second belongs to “βίη Ἡρ”.; ‘for neither did even the mighty H.,’ etc. βίη . . ὅξ, cf. 11.690. It will be seen that legend as yet knows nothing of the apotheosis of Herakles, which appears first in Od. 11.602-04.
