[120] διαπλ́ησσοντες, splitting; “οὕτως Ἀρίσταρχος, ἄλλοι δὲδιαπλίσσοντεςδιὰ τοῦ ι”, Did. This is evidently in allusion to Od. 6.318ἐὺ δὲ πλίσσοντο πόδεσσιν” of the ambling gait of mules; but it could hardly be used of men. (Heyne with Schol. T takes it to mean setting their feet apart, “εὖ διαβάντες”, for the effort.)
