[633] φον̂ηισιν, Schol. B “τῶι φόνωι τῶι τόπωι ἔνθα πεφόνευται”. But the proper sense of “φοναί” seems to be blood (shed), and secondarily carnage, here the gory carcase, cf. 10.521. So also Aisch. Ag. 446.See Bayfield in C.R. xv. 251.
