[265] ἧς, an ablatival gen., expressing the source, as 6.211ταύτης τοι γενεῆς τε καὶ αἵματος εὔχομαι εἶναι”, and “τῆς γενεῆς ἔκλεψε” below. The attraction “ἧς” for “ἥν” assumed by some is not Homeric, Hesiodic, or Pindaric. Bekker (H. B. ii. 12) instead of supplying “εἰσίν” after “γενεῆς” takes it with “ἔκλεψε” in 268, regarding “γενεῆς” there as a mere resumption after the parenthetical “ἧς .. ἠέλιόν τε”, and putting a comma at the end of 267. He would also read “ἥν” for “ἧς”, but this seems needless.
