[125] γνοῖεν, a wish, like the preceding optatives. But it expresses the result of the main wish which precedes it, and so becomes almost final, in order that they may know. δηρόν, fifteen days at most, according to the present chronology of the Iliad; but as Schol. A remarks “μία ἡμέρα Ἀχιλλεῖ πολὺ ἦν ἀφεστῶτι”.
