[162] For ἠέ Bentley conj. “ἠδέ”, on the ground that the point of the simile lies in the double slaughter, and hence the plural “βοσκομενάων”, which may, however, with a slight but natural irregularity, be taken to mean ‘as they (i.e. one or other of them) are feeding.’
