[511] The territory of the Minyai was afterwards part of Boiotia. For Orchomenos see 9.381. The local name was “Ἐρχομενός”: cf. note on 605. Ares was the tribal god of the great tribe of the Minyai, and hence the two chiefs claim descent from him.
