[511] κέλσαι. This imperatival infinitive forms the apodosis to the sentence beginning ἀλλ᾽ ὁπότ᾽ ἄν. The words ἐπ᾽ Ὠκεανῷ are expexegetic of αὐτοῦ. In Od.11. 20 foll., where the injunctions of Circe are being carried out, Odysseus and his comrades, after beaching their ship and disembarking, proceed some distance along the oceanstream, till they reach “χῶρον ὃν φράσε Κίρκη”, but no such definite directions are given in the present book.
