[290] κατῄκισται is not a good epic form, since “ἀεικής” and “ἀεικίζω” are always uncontracted (“ἀϝεικ-”). It is easy to substitute “κατηείκισται ὅσον” (or perhaps “κατηείκιστο”, like “ἐῴκει”)—unless we prefer to regard the passage as a comparatively late insertion.
