[498] ἐπαρωγός, sc. “εἰμί”. In Od.2. 181 we have “ὑπ᾽ αὐγὰς φοιτῶσι”, where the accusative describes the movement in “φοιτᾶν”. But with “ὑπ᾽ αὐγὰς [εἰμί”] we may compare “πῖαρ ὑπ᾽ οὖδας” Od.9. 135.We have to contrast αὐγὰς ἠελίοιο with the darkness of the under-world.
