[121] ἐνώπια, cp. 4. 42 where the chariots of the visitors are set up leaning against them (so Il.8. 435). Hence they are probably the wall-spaces on each side of the entrance of the “μέγαρον”, facing the “αὐλή”. As this wall looked to the south the epithet παμφανόωντα is fully justified, especially in contrast to the “μέγαρα σκιόεντα” within.
