[148] ἐίσκεις, properly means ‘make like,’ as inf. 247; then ‘regard as like,’ Il.5. 181; Od.9. 321; from which meaning it is easy to pass into the more general one of ‘believing,’ cp. Od.11. 363; Il.13. 446 ἄρα δή τι ἐίσκομεν ἄξιον εἶναι

τρεῖς ἑνὸς ἀντὶ πεφάσθαι”; Notice the emphasis in νῦν. Menelaus was undecided in sup. 118.
